The EPL is England’s top soccer league, one of the very best in the world, and is home to some of the globe’s best soccer players and most famous teams. Top players from all over the world take part in the thunderous action that keeps fans on the edge of their seat throughout the nine month season! This is a league that’s known for its fast pace, crunching tackles, and a physicality that sets it apart from others in Europe. But in recent years, the EPL has added a technical style to match it’s Spanish and German rivals, making EPL the most popular league in the USA.
Manchester City has been the dominant force in this league for the last couple of seasons, but Liverpool is set to lift the trophy this year. Is this a beginning of a Liverpool dominance of English soccer, or will new signings from the top six help to heat up the rivalry going forward?
Traditional giants Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal are all battling for position and are looking to regain their glory years, while several teams fight it out each year to avoid dreaded relegation.
Remember to keep an eye on the following EPL betting factors, including:
The title: Which team is going to go all the way to take the title? Will Man Utd return to their glory days? Or is this just the beginning of a long run for Liverpool?
The battle for the top 4: Keep an eye on who will qualify for Europe’s elite cup competition - this is always an important factor to consider as it impacts financial power and transfers in the offseason.
The relegation scrap: The bottom three teams in the league are relegated down to the next league. The bottom three teams often fight the hardest and can provide a host of upset for bigger teams towards the end of the season. Who do you think will get relegated from the EPL this season?
Big six rivalry: The big six clubs have traditionally been: Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham. These are always fierce contests with cards and goals galore.

EPL Betting FAQs
How to bet on EPL
There’s a wide array of options available when it comes to online sports betting for soccer. The most simple options are betting on which team will win the league, a particular game, or even a draw.
You can get a whole lot more complicated, however, by betting on how many goals will be scored in a game, who will score the goals, the score at half time, etc.
The most popular forms of soccer betting include:
- Full-time result: The end result.
- Half-time score: The score at half-time.
- Double chance: Choose whether the home/away team will win or draw.
- Total goals (over/under): Will the combined score be more or less than the sportsbooks have predicted?
- Outrights/futures: Who’s going to win the golden boot? Who will win the title? Who will be in the top 4?
- Specials/props: A particular outcome such as Bruno Fernandes scoring a free-kick, James Milner getting a red card or Harry Kane missing a penalty.
- Parlays: Bet on more than one aspect and win if you get them all right. e.g. Liverpool winning the league with Mohammed Salah scoring their league-winning goal.
- Live soccer bets: Place bets during a game as it develops and odds shift.
How to read soccer odds
Betting on soccer in its simplest format is pretty straightforward— “-” indicates those that are favorites to win/happen, whereas a “+” indicates the underdog or an unexpected result. For example, Leicester has odds of -304 to win the league, and Man Utd has +800.
Do soccer bets include extra time?
Soccer betting is restricted to the 90 minutes of game time, but also includes the extra few minutes of injury time. It won’t, however, cover any extra time to be played to get a result unless you have specifically bet on the match going to extra time.
What does double chance mean in soccer betting?
A double chance bet means that you get to choose two of three betting options and you’ll win if they are correct. Home team and draw means you’ve bet on the home team either winning or losing, and the away team and draw means you’ve bet on the visiting team winning or drawing.
How does soccer handicap betting work?
Handicap betting is a way to turn matches between sides of different strengths into a more even playing field by giving the stronger side a handicap.
For example: Man Utd has a -2 handicap when playing Aston Villa. This means that Man Utd would have to score 2 goals to force a draw if Aston Villa scores no goals during the match.
If you’ve bet on Man Utd winning, and they score 4 goals in the match, you’ll win your bet. However, even if Man Utd score 2 goals and win the game, this will only take them to a draw with Aston Villa in betting terms and you would not win your bet.
What is over 1.5 in soccer betting?
A 1.5 or over bet in soccer is when you bet that there will be more than 1.5 goals scored in a game, which would mean 2 or more. You can also bet on an under bet, which means that you bet on 1 goal or less being scored.
